PlanMap helps Chicago families find camps and recurring activities. We collect as little as possible, we do not sell anything about you, and you can have everything we hold deleted by sending one email.

What we collect

If you sign up for 2027 camp alerts, we store your email address, and optionally your home ZIP code and your child's age. We ask for age as a number only — never a name, birthdate, photo, or any other detail about a child. ZIP and age are used to decide which camps are relevant to you.

Saved camps and followed parks are stored in your own browser using local storage. They never reach our servers, which also means they do not follow you to another device.

Our web host records standard server logs, including IP address and browser type, for security and debugging.

Anonymous site analytics

To understand how the site is used, we record anonymous usage events: pages visited, search terms typed, filters used, and follows. Each visit gets a random session id stored in your browser that rotates every 24 hours — it cannot identify you, and we never store IP addresses, precise location, or any personal information alongside it. Raw events are deleted after 90 days. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, we record nothing at all.

How we use it

Your email is used to send camp alerts you asked for and nothing else. We do not sell, rent, or share our list with camp providers, advertisers, or anyone else. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.

Who else sees it

We use Resend to deliver email, which means your address passes through their systems in order to reach your inbox. Our application runs on Vercel and our database runs on Neon. These processors handle information only to provide the service.

Children

This service is intended for parents and guardians, not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. The child's age field is a single number supplied by an adult and is not tied to an identifiable child.

Camp listings

Camp information is compiled from public sources, including the City of Chicago open data portal and camp providers' own websites. Every listing shows its source and when we last checked it. We are not affiliated with the Chicago Park District or any provider, and registration always happens on the provider's own site.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from any email using the link in its footer. To see what we hold about you or to have it deleted entirely, email hello@campmapchicago.com. We will action deletion requests within 30 days.
